If you pay a total bill of $55.00 how do I figure how much of that is taxes if the tax rate is 6.5%?
---------------------------
Let the original amount of the bill be "x".
EQUATION:
x-0.065x = 55
x(1-0.065)=55
x = 55/0.93.5
x = $58.82
