THE PERIMETER OF A RECTANGLE IS 20 CM AND ITS AREA IS 24 SQ.M. FIND THE LENGHT AND THE WIDTH OF THE RECTANGLE.
Let length of rectangle be x
and width be y
2x+2y =20 (perimeter)
x*y = 24 (Area)
y=24/x
2x+2y =20
divide by 2
x+y=10
substitute y =24/x
x+24/x =10
multiply by x
x^2+24=10x
x^2-10x-24=0
factorise
(x-6)(x-4)=0
x=6 OR 4
The dimensions of rectangle are 6cm and 4 cm

If the perimeter of a rectangle is 20 cm, then the area of such a rectangle can not be greater than

         = 5 cm * 5 cm = 25 cm^2.

The area of such a rectangle CAN NOT be 24 sq. m., as requested in the problem.

So, such a rectangle, as described in the post, DOES NOT exist.
