The graph of the function F, which is a straight line defined by y= mx +k. Such that the point V (3,-4) lies on the line, and the graph of a function g, which is a parabola with vertex R(3,2). The straight line and the parabola intersect at P and Q. The point S and T lie on the parabola and straight line respectively, between P and Q. The line ST is parallel to the y axis.
1. Sketch the graph
2. Calculate m and k hence write down the equation of F.
3. Find the maximum length of ST. At what value of x will ST be at its longest?
4. What is the equation of the circle with center P and radius equal to the distance from P to the origin?
5. What is the equation of the hyperbola through the point?
6. Use the graph to solve the inequality (f,g)x<0.

From the post,  it is  IMPOSSIBLE  to answer part  (2),  since there is no necessary and sufficient data for it.

Also,  it is impossible to answer all other questions/parts - - - due to the same reason.

Try to make a sketch on your own,  based on the text,  and you quickly will get to the same conclusion.


        In part (5), the term "hyperbola" suddenly appears without any connection
        with the rest of the text.  It makes a special  " deep "  impression.
