The distance from Cape town to east London is 1230 km and the distance from from east London to Durban is 655 km.
a) What is the total distance in kilometers that they will travel?
b) if the average consumption of most vehicle is 10,5 litres per 100 km, how much petrol will they need to get to Durban? Give your answers in litres.
c) At a cost of R8,25 per litre of petrol, how much will each of them need to contribute to cover the costs for the trip to Durban and back? ignore the amount of petrol that they use while in Durban.
