A typical algebraic solution....

x = kilos of Barako coffee
20-x = kilos of arabica coffee

The total value of the ingredients is equal to the total value of the mixture:

ANSWER: 8 kilos of Barako coffee; 12 of arabica coffee

CHECK: 8(300)+12(200)=2400+2400=4800

A quick informal solution, if formal algebra is not required....

The price per pound for the mixture, 240, is 40/100=2/5 of the way from 200 to 300.
Therefore 2/5 of the mixture should be the more expensive barako coffee. 2/5 of 20 kilos is 8 kilos.

ANSWER: 8 kilos of barako; 12 of arabica
