When a length of a certain rectangle was decreased by 5cm and the width was increased by 5cm, the resulting figure was a square with a perimeter of 64 centimeters. Find the dimensions of the original rectangle.

The square with the perimeter of 64 cm has the side length of 64/4 = 16 cm.


It implies that the dimensions of the original rectangle were 16-5 = 11 cm  and  16+5 = 21 cm.    ANSWER
