Hello! I just wanted to let everyone and anyone out there who has similar questions like this one......... there is a site with a three-way calculator for figuring out any percentage questions like this and it is AWESOME!!! I use very often. If you go to http://www.math.com/students/calculators/source/3percent.htm, you can plug in anything such as what is ___ % of ____? or ____ is what% of ___? or ___ is ___% of what?
For example... Here we have the question 275,000 is 85% of what number? Simply go to this site and plug the info into the calculator and when you select "Calculate," it tells us the answer is 323,529.4117647059 (Note: you can NOT use commas. You must enter the number in the question as 275000, without the comma and it does not ask you if you need numbers rounded, but assumes you will take the actual data and round it as is applicable.)
Answer: 323,529.4117647059
