Since the function is defined at 3, that is exists, just plug in 3 and do the arithmetic.

After spending significant time for guessing, I finally DECIPHERED what you were going to ask:

            Find   lim (x-->3) {sqrt(x^2+7) + 5}.

The ANSWER is    = = 4 + 5 = 9.

If you see the formula, typographically printed in front of your eyes,
then the time to solve it and to answer is about 4 seconds.

So, I really do not understand the reason why you posted it to the forum . . . .

If the student can not answer this question in 4 seconds, having the formula typographically printed

in front of his (or her) eyes, such a person does not deserve to carry a honor title/degree of a Calculus student . . .

In Calculus, this question is the same as   1 + 2 = 3   in a kindergarten.
