Question 1175993: Adult men have heights with a mean of 69.0 inches and a standard deviation of 2.8 inches. Find the height of a man with a z-score of 0.3929 (to 4 decimal places)
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
z=(x-mean)/sd
0.3929*2.8=1.1001 in.
x-mean=1.10 in.
height is 70.1001 inches (ignoring significant digits)
Often, z-scores are to two decimal places and the probability given is to four decimal places. I used this as written, as a z-score. If it were written the height of a man at the 39.29th percentile, it would be different.
