Question 1174340: Rewrite each of the following numbers as rational numbers in form (a/b) in their lowest form, where a and b are integer and b≠0
(I) 0.35
(II) 3.25

Answer by mccravyedwin(408)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Since 0.35 has 2 decimal places, put the digits 35 over 100 because 100 has the
same number of 0's as 0.35 has decimal places

and reduce it by dividing top and bottom by 5, getting .

Since 3.25 also has 2 decimal places, put the digits 325 over 100 because 100 has
the same number of 0's as 3.25 has decimal places

and reduce it by dividing top and bottom by 25, getting .
