If x is the florist's purchase cost, then he wants the sales total to be 20% more than x, or 1.2x; but he has to make that sales total selling only 80% of the roses he bought.
Then the ratio of the sales price to the purchase price has to be 1.2/0.8 = 1.5.
Since his purchase price is ₹ 2 per dozen, his selling price has to be ₹ 3 per dozen.
If that is unclear, see if using fractions is easier for you to understand.
The florist needs to get 6/5 of his purchase price (6/5 = 120%) by selling 4/5 of the roses. Again the ratio of the selling price to the purchase price has to be (6/5)/(4/5) = 6/4 = 1.5; so the selling price has to be 1.5 times ₹ 2 per dozen, or ₹ 3 per dozen.
