Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
14 minutes is 840 seconds
Ulrike needs 8 seconds per balloon, or 105 balloons in 840 seconds
Lars needs 10 seconds or 84 balloons in 840 seconds.
That is 189 balloons in 14 minutes combined.
divide by 3 bags and 63 balloons per bag.

.

U completes one balloon in 5+3 = 8 seconds.

L completes one balloon in 6+4 = 10 seconds.

So, every 120 seconds (every 2 minutes) they complete + = 15 + 12 = 27 balloons.

In 14 minutes they will complete = 7*27 balloons.

It is what is in 3 bags,

So, there are = 7*9 = 63 balloons in each bag. ANSWER

Solved.

Let = number of balloons they
can blow up and tie together
Add their rates of working to get
their rate working together

The units are: [ balloons made ] / [ seconds to makes them ]

Multiply both sides by

and

There are 63 balloons in each bag
