Sorry for the confusion you apparently have over the other tutor's answer....
I don't know how the other tutor was misreading the problem. The fact that in 6 hours he completes only 2/6 (= 1/3) of his journey most certainly DOES make the 2/6 important -- contrary to what the other tutor said!
If 1/3 of the journey takes 6 hours, then the whole journey takes 6*3=18 hours; 18 hours is 18*60 =1080 minutes.
