Question 1124389: Suppose a company has fixed costs of $54,400 and variable cost per unit of 4/9 x + 222 dollars, where x is the total number of units produced. Suppose further that the selling price of its product is 1856 −5/9 x dollars per unit.
(a) Find the break-even points. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)
Hint: Form the revenue function R(x) and the cost function C(x) first. Then find the break-even points.

The cost function is the fixed cost plus the variable cost. The revenue function is the sell price times the number of units sold. Set the cost function equal to the revenue function and solve for . Note: This is only valid if the number of units produced (the meaning of in the cost function) is exactly equal to the number of units sold (the meaning of in the revenue function).
