Question 1107749: A towns population has been increasing at a constant (linear) rate. In 2010 the population was 46,020. By 2012 the population has increased to 52,070. Assume this trend continues.
The towns predicted population in 2020 is?
In what year will the towns predicted population be 103495?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In two years, the population increased 6050.
The slope is 6050/2=3025.
In 2020, 10 years later, the population will increase 3025*10 or 30,250 from 2010, to 76,270.
103495=46020+3025x, which is the formula where x=years from 2010
57475=3025x
x=19 years
