Payrolls for the three highest paid baseball
teams ( the Yankees,Mets, and Braves) for 2003 totalled #376 million (usa today). If the team payroll for the Yankees was $36
million greater than the payroll for the Mets and the payroll for the
Mets was $11 million greater than the payroll for the Braves, then what was the 2003 payroll for each team?

Let m=payroll of Mets
m+36+m-11+m=376
3m+25=376
3m=376-25
3m=351
m=351/3
m=$117,000,000. Mets payroll
117+36=$153,000,000. Yankees payroll
117-11=$106,000,000. Braves payroll.
