then
(s-.5) = his rate climbing the hill

Write a distance equation; dist = time * speed
Since we are dealing in mph, change 220 min: 220/60 = 3.67 hrs
dist up = dist down
4(s-.5) = 3.667s
4s - 2 = 3.667s

s = 2/.333
