Question 1067201: the human population doubles approximately ever 50 years. if there were 2.5 million people in 1950, how many people are forecasted to populate the earth in 2050?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if it doubles every 50 years, then 2.5 million in 1950 * 2 = 5 million in 2000 * 2 = 10 million in 2050.
of course, you are probably talking billion, rather than million.
the world populations statistics are:
1950 = 2.5 billion
2000 = 6.0 billion
2050 = 9.3 billion (projected)
that's almost double every 50 years but not quite.
