x+10 is terry age
20 years ago
tomas age was x-20
terry age was (x+10)-20
so Terry was twice as old as Tomas means
(x+10)-20=2(x-20)
x-10=2x-40
30=x tomas age now is 30,terry is 40
check 20 years ago,tomas 10,tery 20 which is twice tomas.
