At pi/2, the value is 2. It increases to infinity on the positive side of pi.
This period is halved. At pi/4, the tangent is 1, and goes to infinity on the positive side of pi.
Therefore, this is 2 tan (theta/2), or D.
Cotangent is 0 at pi/2, so those are excluded.
Tangent is not positive between pi/2 and pi, so the period has to be lengthened for this to take place.
