Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x be the distance walked back and forth; then:
x/4+x/2=6
x+2x=24
3x=24
x=8
The distance was 8 miles, back and forth.
Checking:
8/4+8/2=2+4=6 hours walking time!!!!!!!
