Question 1003657: hello friends . Can someone please help me? The question is. Say how many terms are in the finite geometric series and find its sum . 2(0.1)^5 +2(0.1)^6 + .......+2(0.1)^13
the other one is 2+ 2(0.1) +2(0,1)^2 +.....+2(0.1)^25
Thank you in advance !!!!

.
1) how many terms are in the finite geometric series and find its sum . 2(0.1)^5 +2(0.1)^6 + .......+2(0.1)^13
----------------------------------------------------------------
It is easy to calculate the number of terms: from 5 to 13 inclusively, i.e. 13-4 = 9.
=================================================================
2) the other one is 2+ 2(0.1) +2(0,1)^2 +.....+2(0.1)^25.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The number of terms is from 0 to 25 inclusively, i.e. 25 + 1 = 26.
=================================================================
Regarding the sums, please calculate them yourself using standard formulas for the sum of geometric progression.
See, for example, the lesson Geometric progressions in this site.
