Question 155317: Transforming equations with multiplication and division.
How do I put the following question into an expression with a variable?
A police helicopter clocked an automobile for 10 seconds over a stretch of highway on fifth of a mile long. At what reate was the automobile traveling in miles per A. Second? B. Hour?
Here's what I have so far..
Let X = Miles per second
X = .2(miles) / 10 sec.
X= .02 mps
Let Y = Miles per hour
Y = [.2(miles / 10 sec.] * 3600
Y = 72 mph
Is there anything I'm forgetting?
I feel like I'm not transforming anything and just solving for the mps and mph. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
