The peremeter of a rectangle is 100 ft. One side is 6ft longer than the other side. What is an equation to find the legth of "x" of the shorter side? Do not slove. Only find an equation that will satisfy the qustion.

Please help me, I've recived many different asweres for this problem and I'm not sure how to do it or which answer is correct.
(16^-1 x^-4 y612)^-3/4
This problem is: Parenthesis 16 raised to the negative 1, x raised to the ngative 4th y raised to the 12th, end of parenthesis. Outside of the parenthesis, the whole problem is raised to negative 3 over 4. The question asks to simplify this problem

Question 95335: I don't know how to set this problem up and i can solve it on my own if you could just show me how to set the problem.
"Kara has driven 75 miles. She averages 55 mi/h. How many more hours must kara drive to travel a total of 350 miles?"
This is a variable problem that is in word problem form.

Question 95418: Casey and Clarissa want to surprise their father and build a fence for the pig pen in the shape of a Triangle. They have 74' of fencing.
The second side of the fence is two times longer than the first side. The third side of the fence is 10 feet longer than the first side. What are the dimensions of the tringular fence.
I tried: x + 2x + 10 + x = 74
4x - 10 = 74 - 10
4x = 64
This is where I get lost, as to what calculatons come next. Do I divide?...the final numbers do not total 74! Help!

I have tried this below, but I am unsure if I have done this correctly. This is so confusing, and driving me crazy as I try to figure this out.

A cosmetics company sells 12,800 bottles of lotion a month at a selling price of $6.50. A marketing survey indicates that for each $0.25 decrease in selling price, the monthly sales will increase by 900. Determine an equation relating the selling price, p and the number x of bottles sold.
