Question 68863This question is from textbook Introductory Algebra
: The problem reads as follows......
SOFTWARE SALES Three software applications are priced as shown on the table. ( I'll give the table at the end of the problem) Spreedsheet and database programs sold in equal numbers, but 15 more word processing applications were sold than the other two combined. if the three applications generated sales of $72,000, how many spreedsheets were sold? ..........Table is as follows.............
Software Price
Spreedsheet $150
Database $195
Word Processing $210
I tried to work the problem for about an hour. This is what I tried.
150X (spreedsheet)+ 195X (database)+ 2X + 15 = 72,000
347x ( I get this by combining like terms)
347x + 15 = 72,000
- 15 -15
347x = 71985
X = 207.4495.....( I got this answer by dividing both sides by 347. Trying to solve for X)
I don't know what to do from here or if what I've even done is even close to being right. The answer in the back of the book says the answer is 90, so i tried to plug it in and still NO LUCK!!!!!!! Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Rachel
