Her heart rate during that time was 108 beats per minute. THe rest of the time she was slowly jogging at 4.2 miles per hour. Her heart rate during that time was 129 beats per minute. During the 15 minutes she covered .89 mile.
How much time did she spend walking and how much time did she spend jogging?

I set up the equation,
$0.05x + 0.10y = $13.00
and x + y = 180
x=nickels and y=dimes
i really don't remember how to solve it now, since it has two variables...please if someone could help me, i would really appreciate it [please by today?] thanks

How much of a 20% acid solution should be mixed with 80 mL of 5% acid solution to obtain a 12% acid solution?
well, i tried it, but no luck...
0.20(x mL) + 0.05(80 mL) = 0.12(80 + x)
but when i solve it, the answer doesn't come out reasonable..maybe im solving it wrong, i don't know, but please help =]

Question 45912: The equation h = -16t^2 – 32t + 112t gives the height of an arrow, shot upward from the ground with an initial velocity of 112ft/s, where t is the time after the arrow leaves the ground. Find the time it takes for the arrow to reach a height of 180 ft.
