recall that whole number A could be written as a fraction like this: A%2F1
so you have +A%2F1=+B%2FC...now you can cross multiply
+A%2AC=+B%2A1 so, you have
+A%2AC=+B, now both sides divide by A
+A%2AC%2FA=+B%2FA...simplify
+cross%28A%29%2AC%2Fcross%28A%29=+B%2FA
+C=+B%2FA
