Hi there,
(x - 7)/6 = (x + 3)/7
(x - 7)/6 - (x + 3)/7 = 0
Denominator (6 x 7) = 42
Cross multiply
7(x - 7) - 6(x + 3)= 0
Multiply out
7x - 49 - 6x - 18 = 0
Collect like terms
7x - 6x = 49 + 18
x = 67
If you put x = 67 into
the equations
(x - 7)/6 = (x + 3)/7
(67 - 7)/6 = (67 + 3)/7
=> 60/6 = 70/7
=> 10 = 10
Hope this helps:-)
