Question 93527: -2x+3y=14
x+2y=7

Answer by jayanthihemkos@yahoo.com(87)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-2x+3y=14---------(1)
x+2y=7 ---------(2)
Multiply equation (2) by 2
(x+2y=7)*2
==> 2x + 4y = 14 ---------(3)
Add (1) and (3)
-2x+3y=14
2x + 4y = 14
_______________
7y = 14
7y/7 = 14/7
y = 2
puggin the value of y = 2 in equation (2)
x+2y=7
x + 2(2) = 7
x + 4 = 7
x + 4- 4= 7 - 4
x = 3

Check
pluggin the value of x = 3 and y = 2 in equation (2 )
x+ 2y = 7
3 + 2(2)= 7
3 +4 = 7
7 = 7
LHS = RHS
Hence x = 3 and y = 2 is the solution for the system of equation
