2) 4x + 5 = 3x - 3
Subtract 3x from both sides....

==> 4x + 5 - 3x = 3x - 3 - 3x

==> x + 5 = -3

Subtract 5 from both sides...

==> x + 5 - 5 = -3 - 5

==> x = - 8, which is the solution.

To check your answer, substitute the value, x = -8 in the given expression. Then you will get the same value on both sides of the equal sign.
3)Hope your question is like this... 6y + 5 = 4y - 13

6y + 5 = 4y - 13
subtract 4y from both sides..

6y + 5 - 4y = 4y - 13 - 4y

==> 2y + 5 = - 13

Subtract 5 from both sides.

==> 2y + 5 - 5 = - 13 - 5

==> 2y = -18
Divide both sides by 2

==> y = -9 , which is the solution.
