Let amount of daily calories needed be C
Since each horse requires 15,000 calories, then expression is:
Number of calories needed for 6 horses: C = 15,000(6), or 90,000
At $0.15 per 1,000 calories, and with D being the daily cost of feed for 6 horses, we get:
