Ten kilograms of chocolate ice cream containing 20% fat is mixed with eight kilograms of coffee ice cream containing 14% fat, to make mocha ice cream. What is the percent fat content of the mocha ice cream?
let percentage of mix be x
Fat content
10*20%+8*14%=x%(24)
multiply by 100
200+112=24x
312=24x
312/24=x
x= 13 %
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
ten plus eight is 18 not 24
0.2*10+0.14*8=18*x
2+1.12=18*x
3.12=18*x
3.12/18=x
x=3.12/18
x=0.17333333=17.3333333%
0.2*10+0.14*8=3.12
2+1.12=3.12
3.12=3.12
ok
