Question 899008: x-4y=-13
4x+6y=14

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 x -4 y = -13 .............1

4 x + 6 y = 14 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 3
Multiply (2) by 2
3 x -12 y = -39
8 x + 12 y = 28
Add the two equations
11 x = -11
/ 11
x = -1
plug value of x in (1)
1 x -4 y = -13
-1 -4 y = -13
-4 y = -13 + 1
-4 y = -12
y = 3
