4x - y = -1
3x + 4y= -2

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4 x -1 y = -1 .............1
Total value
3 x + 4 y = -2 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 4
Multiply (2) by 1
16 x -4 y = -4
3 x + 4 y = -2
Add the two equations
19 x = -6
/ 19
x = - 6/19
plug value of x in (1)
4 x -1 y = -1
-24/19 -1 y = -1
-1 y = -1 + 24/19
-1 y = 5/19
y = - 5/19
