Question 868926: Solve the system using elimination. (If there is no solution, enter NO SOLUTION. If there are infinitely many solutions, enter INFINITELY MANY.)

4x + 2y = −4
−2x = −4y + 12

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x + 2y = −4 [multiply by -2 & add.]
−2x = −4y + 12
-2x+4y=12
-8x-4y=8
-------------
-10x=20
x=20/-10
x=-2 ans.
4*-2+2y=-4
-8+2y=-4
2y=-4+8
2y=4
y=4/2
y=2 ans.
Proof:
-2*-2=-4*2+12
4=-8+12
4=4
