Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=y+5 and 2x-3y=7 substition work out
--------------
2x-3y=7
2(y+5)-3y=7 ... replace every copy of x with y+5 (since x = y+5)
2y+10-3y=7
-y+10 = 7
-y = 7-10
-y = -3
y = -3/(-1)
y = 3
-----------
x = y+5
x = 3+5
x = 8
=======================================================
Answer: x = 8, y = 3
