4.5x + 1.5y = 24
x - y = 4

Eliminate fractions, multiply the 1st eqn by 2
9x + 3y = 48
---
x - y = 4 --> x = y + 4
Sub for x in the 1st eqn
9(y+4) + 3y = 48
9y + 36 + 3y = 48
12y = 12
y = 1
-----------
x = y+4
x = 5
