Question 81206: Simplify
Using LCD I ended up with (5x^2 +4) / 4x where do I go from here?
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
:
You can cancel the x in the denominator of the 1st fraction (does not make much difference here):
:
Multiplying the equation by 4x gets rid of the denominators, so you have:
5x^2 + 4 = 4x
:
5x^2 - 4x + 4 = 0
:
That's about all you can do with it; you can see by the discriminant that it has no real roots. (16 - 4* 5 * 4 = - 64)
