Question 78395: we are learning algebra in my 6th grade advanced class but i am not catching on to it very well so i need some help on it can you give me some ways to get to learn it better. how do you go through the process step by step and get the exact awnser without skipping some steps? my teacher told us to remember a saying but it still dosent help me very well.

IF IT IS THE FOIL TECHNIQUE THEN:
F=FIRST, O=OUTER, I=INNER & L=LAST FACTORS WHEN MULTIPLYING FACTORS LIKE:
(X+2)(X-5)
FIRST IS X*X=X^2
OUTER IS -5*X=-5X
INNER=2*X=2X
LAST=2*-5=-10
COMBINING LIKE TERMS WE GET:
X^2-5X+2X-10
X^2-3X-10
