Question 7825: How do I solve problems like this:
26 + 4(h+3)=
and
8(j-4)+17
Thanks for your help,
Answer by bonster(299) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
26 + 4(h+3)=
Let's look at " 4(h+3)" first:
1)Multiply (4)(h) then multiply (4)(3)
2)add the two: 4h+12
3)put it back into the equation
4)26+ <--add 26+12=38
5)4h+38 or 2(2h+19)
8(j-4)+17
Look at first:
1)multiply (8)(j) and (8)(-4)
2)add the two: 8j+(-32)=8j-32
3)put it back into the equation
4)+17 <-- add -32+17=-15
5)8j-15
