Question 730200: 2x - y =4 (1)
3x - 2y=7 (2)

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 x -1 y = 4 .............1

3 x -2 y = 7 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -2
Multiply (2) by 1
-4 x 2 y = -8
3 x -2 y = 7
Add the two equations
-1 x = -1
/ -1
x = 1
plug value of x in (1)
2 x -1 y = 4
2 -1 y = 4
-1 y = 4 -2
-1 y = 2
y = -2
x= 1
y= -2
