Let x= number of minutes of local calls when cost of plans are the same
Cost of Plan 1=$27.95+.12x
Cost of Plan 2=$12.95+.32x
Need to find x when Cost of Plan 1=Cost of Plan 2. So, our equation to solve:
$27.95+.12x=$12.95+.32x subtract $12.95 and.12x from both sides
$27.95-$12.95+.12x-.12x=$12.95-$12.95+.32x-.12x collect like terms
$15.00=.20x divide both sides by .20
x=75 minutes------------------------------when costs are the same

27.95+9.00=12.95+24.00
36.95=36.95
