Question 706044: PLEASE HELP ME
Use synthetic substitution to determine if (X-2) is a factor of
(2x^3 - 3x^2 + x - 6)

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(2x^3 - 3x^2 + x - 6) / (x-2)
:
. . ________________
2 | 2 - 3 + 1 - 6
> . . . .+ 4 + 2 + 6
. . ------------------
. . +2 + 1 + 3 + 0, no remainder so it factors
this translates to
2x^2 + x + 3; which can't be factored
