This pattern throws me off and I have more of them. A step by step guide would be a life saver.

%289x%5E3+-+18x%5E2%29+-+%284x+-+8%29+=+0 Notice the change in sign of the last term. Factor 9x%5E2 from the first group and factor 4 from the second group:
9x%5E2%28x+-+2%29+-+4%28x+-+2%29+=+0 Now you can factor the common term (x - 2).
