3(2d-7)=(2+4d)2 Solve for d

this is what i have done:
3(2d-7)=(2+4d)2 Use the distributive property. Distribute the 3 and 2
6d-7=4+8d Use the addition and subtraction property of equality
-6d -6d
-7=4+2d
-4 -4
-11=2d Use the division property of equality
/2 /2
-5.5= d But when i plug -5.5 in for d, it just doesn't work
