Question 66551: solve for x:
3x - 2y = 6
option of solutions that i need to pick from are:
A) 2y + 6 divided by 3
B)3x - 6 divided by 2
C) 2 + 2y
D) 2/3y + 6
how do you even solve this problem.
Answer by Gen(11) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well in this problem you want to isolate the x
To do this, first you want to move the -2y over to the other side of the equation.
You can do this by adding 2y to both sides because it will cancel out the -2y on the left side of the problem
now your problem reads 3x=2y+6
so now all you have to do is divide the entire problem by 3 so you can cancel out the 3 being multiplied to the x
your answer is x=2/3y+2 or choice A
