DirectionsL: Solve the the given variable.
(1) D= t^2 + vt (for v) Subtract t^2 from both sides
D-t^2=vt+t^2-t^2
d-t^2=vt divide both sides by t
(D-t^2)/t=(vt)/t so
v=(D-t^2)/t
(2)V= pie r^2 h ( for h) Divide both sides by (pi)(r^2)
V/((pi)(r^2))=((pi)(r^2)(h))/((pi)(r^2))=h so
h=V/((pi)(r^2))
(3) P= 2l +2w (for w) Subtract 2l from both sides
P-2l=2l+2w-2l
P-2l=2w Divide both sides by 2
(P-2l)/2=w or
w=(P-2l)/2
(4) P= 1/rt (for t) Multiply both sides by rt
Prt=1((rt)/rt)=1 (probably should be i and not 1). Divide both sides by Pr
t=i/Pr
The formula, I=PRT, is the simple interest formula: Interest=(Principle)(rate)(time)
