let the length of a side of the original sq. be 'a in.'
now it's 'a+7 in '

area becomes (a+7)^2 in^2
or (a+7)^2 = 121

or a+7 = 11 [neglecting the -ve solun]

or a = 11-7 =4

ans is 4 in
