Question 604466: Y= -3x + 5
5x-4y= -3

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 x + 1 y = 5 .............1

5 x -4 y = -3 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 4
Multiply (2) by 1
12 x 4 y = 20
5 x -4 y = -3
Add the two equations
17 x = 17
/ 17
x = 1
plug value of x in (1)
3 x + y = 5
3 + y = 5
y = 5-3
y = 2
x=1,y=2
