Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solve
8x-2y=12
7x+3y=15
-------------
Multiply thru 1st by 3 and 2nd by 2 to get:
24x - 6y = 36
14x + 6y = 30
----
Add and solve for "x":
38x = 66
x = 33/19
-----
Solve for "y":
8(33/19) - 2y = 12
264/19 - 2y = 12
---
132/19 - y = 6
y = (132/19)-(114/19)
y = 18/19
-----
Check the arithmetic.
